Update: Mahindra Two Wheelers Limited (MTWL) has officially started taking bookings for Mojo. The respective buyers have to pay a token amount of Rs. 10,000 for parking this naked 300cc machine in their garage. This will put an end to the eternal wait of those who were looking forward to the arrival of this bike.
Mahindra’s 300cc naked street player that has kept us waiting for a long time has finally shown some signs of its launch in India. The technical specifications of Mahindra Mojo have been revealed by one of our sources, which will surely bring a smile for those who were waiting eagerly for it. First showcased at the 2010 Indian Auto Expo, the bike was seen numerous times doing trial runs on Indian roads but never made it to the markets.
Mahindra Mojo will be powered by a 300cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine mated to a six-speed constant mesh gearbox that uses wet multiplate clutch assembly. The engine cranks out a maximum power of 27bhp at 8,000rpm along with a peak torque of 30Nm at 6,000rpm. The bike delivers a decent fuel economy of 30kmpl as claimed by some customers that have taken it for trials.
The bike runs on 110/70/ZR17 front and 150/60/ZR17 rear Pirelli Diablo Rosso tyres that come mounted over stylish black alloy wheels. The stopping power is delivered to the wheels with the help of 320mm disc brake at the front and 240mm disc brake at the rear. The suspension duties are carried out by inverted telescopic forks up front and offset mono shock absorber at the rear end.
Built on a naked streetfighter platform, the Mojo incorporates twin rounded headlights at the front with clear lens turn indicators. The signature Mahindra golden ribs find their presence here as well and make it recognise as a Mahindra two-wheeler even from a distance. The massive 21-liter fuel tank design is slightly raised that offers a good and upright riding position to the rider. Coming to the rear, the machine has a sporty athletic rear that further intensifies the visuals. Mahindra Mojo has a total kerb weight of 166kgs that make it a good and easy to ride two-wheeler.
