It will be the most affordable J-series platform bike

Our dealer sources have revealed that Royal Enfield’s highly anticipated roadster, the Hunter 350, is all set for launch by June end. The bike was spotted in mid-April and seemed to be in an almost production-ready guise.

In terms of appearance, the bike gets RE’s signature -retro styling with a round headlight and taillight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, rounded rear view mirrors and alloy wheels. Moreover, the Hunter 350 gets a Triumph Street Twin-like silhouette.

Based on RE’s J-Series platform, the Hunter will be propelled by the same 349cc engine as the Meteor 350 and Classic 350. It might also produce the same 20.4PS and 20.7Nm, and will be mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Underpinnings on the Hunter 350 include a gaitered front fork, dual shock absorbers at the rear, and a disc brake at both ends, with dual-channel ABS. It will likely roll on smaller 17-inch alloys (rather than the Meteor’s 19-/17-inch or Classic’s 19-/18-inch setup . Apart from that, the bike also gets mid-set footpegs and a flat handlebar.

In terms of features, we can expect the Hunter 350 to borrow the Meteor’s console, with the Tripper Navigation pod as an option.

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will break cover in the second half of June and is expected to be priced around Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable J-Series offering. It will rival the likes of the Yezdi Roadster, Jawa Forty Two 2.1, the Honda CB350RS, and possibly the upcoming Triumph-Bajaj 350 bike.
