The BS6 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 have reached dealerships ahead of its official launch. We had previously shared their BS6 prices, which have now been confirmed by the brand. Further, Royal Enfield will complete the transition to BS6 emission norms with the introduction of the updated 650 twins. Here are the updated prices:
For 2020, both the Interceptor 650 BS6 and Continental GT 650 BS6 receive no cosmetic updates and are offered in the same colours and livery as before. The main update lies nestled in between the double-cradle frame. That’s right, the 650cc, fuel-injected, parallel-twin motor now complies with BS6 norms. Interestingly, the 650cc engine was already a BS6-ready motor, so less work was required to make it BS6 compliant. We also expect the updated BS6 motor to make the same 47PS and 52Nm as the BS4 model.

In terms of underpinnings, the BS6 motorcycle appears to be unchanged as well. Attached to the double-cradle frame are a conventional front fork and dual gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The motorcycle continues to use spoked wheels with Pirelli Phantom Sportcomp tyres. The braking setup remains the same too - 320mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes from ByBre with dual-channel ABS.
Some dealerships have begun accepting bookings for the new Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The booking amount has been set at Rs 10,000 with a waiting period of 15 to 20 days.
