Prior to missing the 2016 Indian Auto Expo, the oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production - Royal Enfield unveiled its 410cc adventure tourer bike Himalayan in grand style in Delhi on 2nd Feb. The launch of this bike will take place in the coming month and it had received an overwhelming response from the two-wheeler fraternity present at the event. Now, we have received an interesting piece from our sources at Royal Enfield that the company will be rocking this year in the later part by bringing their flagship model - a motorcycle powered by a 750cc, parallel-twin engine.
Earlier, there have been speculations that Royal Enfield will be bringing three new motorcycles in 2016. These included a 410cc adventure tourer, which has been unveiled as the Himalayan, a parallel-twin motorcycle and an unknown bike. While the engine is currently under the development stage, it will be ready to be showcased by this year end. The 750cc motor will be based on an all-new platform that will differentiate it from the existing Royal Enfield lineup.
Though the exact power output is not available at the moment, our source at the company hinted that this 750cc mill will crank out around 50bhp of power with a peak torque of 60Nm. Earlier, in the previous year, the UK importer of Royal Enfield, MotoGB also confirmed the development of 750cc parallel-twin engine. Once launched, the machine will go head-to-head with the Harley Davidson Street 750, which is already enjoying a really good sales figures in India at this point of time. Stay tuned for more updates!
