After unveiling its first hybrid scooter, Hero LEAP in Auto Expo 2012, Hero also unveiled the modified version of one of its successful bike Hunk designed earlier in joint venture with Honda motors in overall black color and with new identity as Hero Moto Hunk. The new Hunk from Hero is reported to receive mix review from the audiences visiting stall settled by Hero at the Auto Expo.
The final looks of Hero Moto Hunk does not support any shiny or metallic finish but carries matte finish which prior to this had been introduced in TVS Apache from TVS Motors. Till now, Hero has not revealed that whether the bike will be launched with same color finish or not. The earlier version of Hero Honda Hunk was energized with 149.2 cc 4 stroke, air cooled, single cylinder OHC engine churning the power of 14.4 PS at 8500 rpm and generating torque of 12.80 Nm at 6500 rpm. It also supported five speed constant manual gearbox followed by multi plate wet clutch and adorns feature of self and kick start.
Other features integrated in Hero Hunk included front disc brake, optional rear disc brakes, rear gas reservoir shock absorber, digital speedometer, five spoke die cast alloy wheels, multi-reflector halogen lamp and wider wheelbase. The first edition of Hero Hunk was launched in 2007 to compete with Bajaj Pulsar 150 which at that time dominated the 150cc segment of bike in Indian bike market. Let us hope that with new identity and with new color finish, the new Hero Hunk repeats the same success history which was enjoyed by its erstwhile variant.
