As reported earlier that Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited (SMIL) is working on a full faired version of its successful 155cc motorcycle- Gixxer. Now a fully undisguised mule of the bike in making has been spotted testing in India. According to the snapper, there was an ‘SLK’ moniker on the bike, which hints that it might be christened as ‘Gixxer SLK’. The company seems to launch the motorcycle within the first half of 2015 and it is expected to be priced around Rs. 80,000.
Apart from the GSX series inspired front fairing, it will share almost every part with the existing Gixxer. The bike will sport the same 144.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with SEP (Suzuki Eco Performance) technology, and comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. Retaining the carburetor type fuel system, the bike will continue to deliver 14.6bhp of maximum power along with a peak torque of 14Nm.
The Suzuki Gixxer comes with many premium features like 41mm front telescopic forks, adjustable rear mono-shock, fully digital console, 3-split-spoke alloys, meaty 100/80 section front and 140/60 section rear tyres, sporty dual port exhaust, front disc brake and more. All these features will be continued in the Gixxer SLK and it will be positioned against the upper-class premium 150cc offerings like Yamaha Fazer.
