BMW Motorrad is expected to introduce its new entry-level performance motorcycle - G310R - in India soon and the German company has already begun popularising itself here to make ensure a significant brand presence for the same. BMW is organising a ride event at BIC on 2nd Feb, just prior to the Auto Expo 2016. It is neither a launch event nor a media ride and invited people are going to get some bigger BMW Motorrad bikes including the S1000RR, S1000R, R nineT, R 1200GS, K 1300R to get a feel of the ride experience the company’s products have to offer.
The event seems to be a strategy of BMW Motorrad to bring its brand in vogue in India, so it can indirectly help the upcoming products in the market including its smallest motorcycle yet, G310R. We can expect more such events from the company on a regular basis to make inroads into the country’s motorcycle mind space.
In all probability, the upcoming BMW G310R may be launched by the end of 2016 or early 2017 in India. However, we can expect the motorcycle to make its presence felt in India at the Auto Expo 2016 along with some of BMW’s bigger 2016 models. The company has already unveiled the motorcycle globally and it looks like a proper no-nonsense streetfighter with its aggressive styling. Powering the bike is a new 313cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that will produce a maximum power of 33.5bhp and 28Nm of peak torque.
Currently, the major part of the entry-level performance segment in India is shared by the faired options available in the market. However, looking at the styling and the advanced technology of this motorcycle, it seems to have the makings of a game changer for the country’s market.
Look forward to more updates from us about the BMW G310R!
