The new variant will give the Activa 6G a much-needed piece of tech
(Update: Honda has launched the H-Smart variant of the Activa 6G. Here’s what this new scooter packs.)
Honda is all set to launch the Activa 6G Smart variant tomorrow. It first sent us an invite earlier this month, which didn’t reveal much. But then as hardworking as we are, we dug up and brought to you exclusive bits about it.
We got our hands on a leaked homologation document, revealing details about the possibility of the tech to be offered on the upcoming Honda Activa 6G variant. This anti-theft feature is likely to be something similar to (albeit toned down) the Honda Ignition Security System (HISS). What the HISS essentially does is disable the starting up of the engine by means of electronic control. It comes into play from the moment you remove your key in order to ward off theft. Expect a less sophisticated version of this tech to be offered in the Smart variant.

Honda could very well charge a premium of around Rs 3,000 over the cost of the top trim for this tech. For perspective, the standard trim of the Activa 6G retails for Rs 73,359, while the Deluxe variant will set you back by Rs 75,859.
