Suzuki Motorcycles’s Chinese partner’s cruiser will rival the Honda Rebel 300
In June this year, patent images of Haojue’s latest cruiser, the TR300, were leaked online and now, with its launch around the corner, the bike has been spotted during a commercial shoot. For the uninitiated, Haojue is a Chinese manufacturer that has a joint venture with Suzuki Motorcycles to develop small-displacement motorcycles.
The Haojue TR300 utilises the 300cc platform on which the DR300 is based. So, we expect the same 298cc, liquid-cooled parallel twin unit producing 29.3PS and 27.8Nm. But being a cruiser, the bikemaker could retune the engine for better low- to mid-range grunt.

The new Haojue cruiser looks quite bulky, and the unit spied sported an all-black theme with chrome bits on the exhaust, tank extensions and the logo. Going by the spy shot, the Haojue TR300 appears to be slightly better proportioned, unlike the Suzuki Intruder 155, which looks disproportionate thanks to the skinny tyres on the bulky body.
The Chinese cruiser is equipped with disc brakes at both ends with Nissin calipers. Suspension equipment includes telescopic fork and dual shocks. Though details are scarce, the patent images revealed that the cruiser will sport LED illumination and a fully-digital console (likely to be a LCD unit).
Will Suzuki give the Haojue cruiser its own spin? So far, we haven’t seen Suzuki do that with products from the Chinese manufacturer, and it is likely to stay that way. The Haojue TR300 competes with the likes of the Benda Jinjila 300 and the Honda Rebel 300 in the Chinese market. While the Haojue TR300 may never come to India, Suzuki has been working on Intruder 250 based on the Gixxer 250.
