People who love their two-wheelers in a retro flavour will love what this month might bring
After a sizzling June, July is here to calm things down with its pleasant rains. So yes, the launches will be few, but they’re exciting and as they say, quality over quantity, eh? So here’s a quick look at all the two-wheelers that this month may bring:
Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X
After endless spy shots and multiple teasers, Triumph’s smallest bikes were finally unveiled in June.
Both the Triumph Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X pack a punchy engine, premium hardware and look very, very premium! It truly seems like they’re bringing all the goodness usually associated with Triumph bikes but in a smaller and much affordable manner. Both bikes are all set to be launched in India on 5 July and here’s what we think they could be priced at:
Triumph Speed 400 Expected Price: Rs 2.90 lakh (Ex-showroom)
Triumph Scrambler 400 X Expected Price: Rs 3.20 lakh (Ex-showroom)
Harley-Davidson X440
Another addition to the sub-500cc neo-retro nakeds segment will be the Harley-Davidson X440. Yes, neo because underneath the retro looks is modern kit like a TFT console, USD fork, ByBre disc brakes and a 440cc engine. Its pictures were first seen nearly two months ago and then once again shortly after. For all the exhaust fanboys out there, here’s what it sounds like.
All in all, the X440 sounds exciting. We’ll be riding it on 3 July and our review will drop soon after, so stay tuned to BikeDekho for more about the soon-to-be most affordable Harley-Davidson bike.
Harley-Davidson X440 Expected Price: Rs 2.70 lakh (Ex-showroom)
Ola S1 Retro Variant
After targeting the Honda Activa 6G, it looks like Ola has now shifted its attention to the TVS Jupiter, the Classic variant in particular. A recent teaser put out on Twitter shows an Ola S1 with a windshield and we think Ola could do a Jupiter Classic with this one.
With retro elements like a windshield, cushioned backrest, centre stand and some old-school paint schemes, we think Ola could give the S1 lineup a retro variant for all the old-school enthusiasts out there. The Ola S1 is quite a funky-looking scooter so it’ll be interesting to see how these retro elements add up on it.
Ola S1 Retro Variant Expected Price: Rs 1.20 lakh (Ex-showroom)
These were the two-wheelers that could be launched in India this month. But along with these, there will be quite a lot of our first ride reviews and some very interesting comparison reviews that’ll be dropping soon as well. So keep a lookout in this segment as we’ll be putting out some very interesting content.
