Along with BS6 two-wheelers, there will be a lot of interesting products at the Suzuki pavilion

Here’s What Suzuki Will Launch At The 2020 Auto Expo Tomorrow

Suzuki will be revealing its new models at the 2020 Auto Expo tomorrow. This year Suzuki will be the only Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer to display its wares at the Auto Expo. While it will have new BS6 versions of the existing BS4 models at the pavilion, we also expect to see new models being unveiled. Here’s what’s expected to come at the 2020 Auto Expo.

BS6 Suzuki Gixxer 150 and Gixxer 250:

While Suzuki has launched the BS6 Access 125, it has yet to launch BS6 variants of its 150cc and 250cc Gixxer. Since Suzuki has recently completely updated the Gixxer with new bodywork, we do not expect extensive cosmetic updates but minor tweaks to the bodywork. In terms of performance, we can expect a slight drop in power outputs due to restrictive BS6 updates.

Suzuki Intruder 250:

We expect Suzuki to extend its 250cc platform to the Intruder brand as well. Suzuki could unveil a larger capacity Intruder 250 which would make it the only cruiser available in the 250cc segment. The Intruder 250 could be feature cosmetic updates as well and get LED headlamps in inverted LCD screen like the new Gixxers. Pricing could be in the region of Rs 1.8 lakh.

Suzuki V-Strom 250:

This might be a bit of a long shot but we expect Suzuki to showcase the V-Strom 250 as well. They already sell the motorcycle in international markets and given the recent interest in adventure motorcycles, could think about launching the V-Storm 250 here. The motorcycle has a bit of adventure in it thanks to long travel suspension and 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup.  If they do unveil the motorcycle at the expo, we could potentially see a launch later this year with a price tag hovering around Rs 1.9 lakh (ex-showroom).

Larger Burgman Street:

Suzuki could launch a larger capacity Burgman at the Expo. While the Japanese bikemaker sells 200cc and 400cc Burgman maxi-scooters abroad, we expect the India spec one to have a motor with engine capacity ranging from 150cc to 165cc. This will help the Burgman compete against the Aprilia SR 160 and Vespa SXL 150. While Suzuki could carry forward the existing Burgman Street’s bodywork, we expect the scooter to be feature-packed.

Suzuki SV 650:

While Suzuki sells the GSX-S750 in India, it does not have anything here to compete against the likes of middleweight offerings like the CFMoto 650NK and Kawasaki Z650. However, Suzuki does sell the SV 650 overseas which it could bring to India via the CKD route. The motorcycle was recently cosmetically updated and shares its V-twin motor with the V-Strom 650. Suzuki could launch the new motorcycle here at around Rs 6 lakh to 6.2 lakh.

Suzuki V-Strom 1050:

The V-Strom 1000 was until recently sold in India and we expect its replacement, the new V-Strom 1050 to debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. It gets a new design and new features that include an LED headlamp and a new LCD screen Electronic rider aids include traction control, riding modes and load-dependent ABS. The motor has been updated to BS6 norms and now makes 107.4PS and 100Nm. We expect the new V-Strom to be launched in India later this year and carry a price tag of Rs 14.40 lakh for the standard variant.
