The upcoming Mavrick 440 has been spotted testing alongside a Harley-Davidson X440 with accessories
Just about a week after we first talked about it, the upcoming Hero Mavrick 440 has already been spied testing, and it looks… interesting.
For starters, its LED headlight seems like it’s straight off the XPulse 200 4V and right beside it is a telescopic fork, a cost-saving measure against the Harley-Davidson X440’s inverted unit. The indicators flanking the fork are also LEDs that seem to be the same as the ones on the X440. Even the alloy wheels seem to have a different design than the X440.
But the biggest differences from the X440 are the fuel tank extensions and what seems to be a differently shaped exhaust. As for the console, it too seems to be different from the X440’s centrally mounted TFT one. The X440 will be positioned as the more premium offering of the two anyway, so the Mavrick 440 could get a colour LCD console.
What further adds to the sense of retro are the bar-end mirrors. Now while the footpeg positioning (and hence overall ergonomics) seems to be the same, this one could have a different, higher handlebar. This one also seems to be more touring-friendly with the panniers, luggage mounted at the rear, auxiliary lamps, and crash guards. Interestingly, there is an X440 to be seen right behind the test bike, one that’s kitted with accessories like a small flyscreen and a crashguard.
Hero will likely launch the Mavrick 440 at Hero World 2024 and we think its price could be below the Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. Once here, it’ll go up against the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
