The 110cc scooter segment is one of the fastest growing segment of the Indian auto market and all the two wheeler majors are focusing on it. Honda Activa, the leader of the segment, generates sales that give competition to the biggies like Hero Splendor and Bajaj Discover. Therefore, all the manufacturers in India are trying their best to defeat the Activa. There are some scooters like Hero Maestro and TVS Jupiter performed quit good, however, unable to reach near Activa.
Now, Hero and Suzuki are bringing new competitors with different strategies and a common factor. Hero is bringing Dash, which will be a feature loaded premium scooter, while Suzuki Let's will be a affordable scooter with standard features. However, both the scooters will produce higher power than Activa.
Both Honda and Activa enjoys a very good brand image, and this is a problem with Suzuki, as it is relatively new brand compare to the other brands mentioned here, thus has lesser popularity and customer engagement. Though, Hero is the most trusted brand in India, so, the Dash can give a tough competition to Honda Activa.
Hero Dash will get a very sporty design holding a powerfull and efficient 111cc, air-cooled engine, which churns out a maximum power of 8.44bhp @7,500rpm and a peak torque of 9.4Nm @7,750. The scooter get lots of exciting features including external fuel lid opening with ignition key at front, analogue digital meter, LED tail lamps, Side stand and service indicator, Integrated braking system, larger boot space, Service due indicator, E-Code security key, Boot light and USB mobile charging socket. It sports bigger 13inch alloy wheel at the front with tubeless tyres and telescopic suspensions, making the rides more comfortable. The scooter might be priced slightly higher than the activa, but this scooter worths it.
Suzuki Lets sports a very unique design, specially from the rear side along with the segment's most powerful 112cc, air-cooled engine, which delivers 8.7bhp of maximum power, almost similar to the 8.8bhp of Activa 125. The scooter gets all the basic features, which comes with current scooter range along with telescopic forks holding the front wheel. However, The scooter will get advantage of its affordable pricing, lesser than that of the Activa, best-in-class power output and mileage of 63kmpl (claimed).
Both the scooters are looking promising however, Hero Dash is looking a direct compititor for the Activa, while Suzuki Let's wiull succeed to make decnt number of the sales figure.
