Hero has also given us a glimpse of how the bike looks, and its design is properly muscular
[UPDATE: The Hero Mavrick 440 has been launched in India at an killer price tag, and you can read all about it in our launch story here]
Hero MotoCorp has revealed the exhaust note of the upcoming Mavrick in a video posted on its social media handles ahead of its launch on January 23. The video also showed us a clear look at the digital instrument console and LED headlight with LED indicators.
In the video, we can clearly hear the exhaust note, carrying the trademark single-cylinder thump. It isn’t all that different from the Harley-Davidson X440, if we’re being honest. However, it gets a different-looking exhaust than the Harley bike.
The negative LCD instrument console looks neat and includes a speedometer, tachometer (with the same 6000rpm redline as the X440), gear position indicator, remaining range and mileage indicator, and side stand alert. Moreover, the Hero Mavrick also gets Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alert, a digital clock, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and distance, and a phone battery indicator. The 440cc Hero bike also gets an LED headlight that reminds us of the one on the Hero XPulse 200 4V, but with curved DRLs with a single LED projector. The bike also gets round LED indicators.
Hero also gave us a sneak peek at the Mavrick by revealing a silhouette design sketch, giving us an idea of how the bike will look. The bike has a modern, sporty cruiser-like design that seems to be inspired by the Brabus 1300 R. The Mavrick looks sportier and bulkier than the X440. It has a muscular tank with sporty tank shrouds. The contoured design of the single-piece seat and the chunky yet sharp looking exhaust contribute to the overall aesthetics. We expect the bike to feature an upright riding posture with a slight forward lean.
In conclusion, the Hero Mavrick’s design is pretty rare in the 300-400cc segment, and can only be seen on the Bajaj Dominar 400. However, the silhouette just being a design sketch of the bike cannot be taken as how exactly the bike will look in real life. Stay tuned, as we'll be the first to bring you the news once the bike is revealed.
Hero Mavrick will feature the same 440cc engine as the Harley X440, we expect the 440cc Hero roadster to be priced at around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The Mavrick will compete against the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda H’ness CB 350.
