Where at one side, the ongoing Auto Expo 2012 is witnessing is tough fight of unveiling new vehicles by various renowned companies, on the other side it is also witnessing various new contenders standing erect after termination of their joint alliance. It is during Auto Expo that both earlier partners, Hero Motors from India and Japanese Auto giant Honda Motors are making their independent presence. There are reports which reveal that Hero Motors with its new identity Hero MotoCorp has unveiled two motorcycles and its first hybrid scooter Leap during ongoing auto expo 2012. Prior to this during festive season of Diwali during 2011, Hero MotoCorp had launched Hero MotoCorp Impulse in 150cc segment in Indian bike market.
According to Mr. Pawan Munjal, Chief Executive, Hero MotoCorp will release its 110cc scooter Hero MotoCorp Maestro during the last days of this month. Whereas sale of Passion X Pro in 110cc segment and Ignitor in 125cc segment will show in the coming months of this year. Mr. Munjal also said that launch of new products is not just a launch but it depicts company’s intention and vision for strengthening its leadership in market.
After termination of Hero’s alliance with Honda Motors, the first major introduction was Impulse bike which was launched to attract customers intending to buy 150cc bike with its independent identity as Hero MotoCorp. Let us hope with new recognition and with new variants Hero MotoCorp will succeed in establishing its same strong identity as it carried while it had alliance with Honda Motors. However, the company may use Honda’s identity on its products till 2014 according to treaty signed between them. However, Honda will not assist them with any kind of technical assistance.
