Hero MotoCorp has launched smart sunglasses at Rs 2,999. The glasses are available online at Hero MotoCorp’s accessory website. It is also available at select authorised Hero dealerships.
It comes with CSR Bluetooth chipset with Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity. The open ear speakers, along with the Bluetooth module and power button are integrated into the frame itself. With the smart sunglasses, you will be able to listen to answer calls, or listen to turn-by-turn navigation. You’ll also be able to listen to music although we wouldn’t recommend you do that, as it compromises your safety. Listening to music reduces situational awareness while riding. Hero MotoCorp also claims the glasses are polarised and offer 100 per cent UV protection.
Since the smart sunglasses are compatible with a smartphone, you can use it with pretty much any motorcycle or scooter. Since the speakers are of open-ear type, the battery life may not be as much as conventional in-ear Bluetooth earphones.
