The Celebration Edition was unveiled in January to commemorate Hero MotoCorp’s 100 million production milestone

Hero MotoCorp reached the landmark 100 million production milestone back in January. Commemorating the occasion, the brand launched Celebration Edition variants of the Hero Splendor Plus, Xtreme 160R, Passion Pro, Glamour 125, Destini 125, and the Maestro Edge 110. The most affordable bike among the lot, the Splendor Plus Celebration Edition, has now started reaching dealerships. This variant retails at Rs 67,095 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 1,800 more expensive than the i3S version.

For the extra premium, you get an all-red colour scheme with unique grey-silver graphics stickers on the body panels. This variant also gets a premium seat cover, and blacked-out alloy wheels for an added dose of exclusivity. Apart from the cosmetic updates, the motorcycle remains the same as the standard model in terms of mechanicals. Its 97.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected motor churns out a modest 8PS and 8.05Nm, mated to a four-speed transmission. Underpinnings include a telescopic front fork, twin rear shock absorber, and 130mm drum at both ends.

As far as the competition is concerned, the Hero Splendor Plus Celebration Edition goes up against the TVS Radeon Commuter Bike Of The Year Edition. Although, the latter gets a bigger 110cc engine and even a front disc brake while being just about Rs 200 more expensive. It also competes with the recently-launched Bajaj Platina 100 ES.
