The company’s scooter lineup registered a drop in sales
Hero has been retaining the top spot on the sales chart for the last two months in a row. Now, December 2021 numbers are out, and while its commuter motorcycles have performed well, the company's scooter lineup has registered a drop in sales.
Check out the detailed report right here.
As of now, Hero's scooter lineup includes the Destini, Maestro Edge 110, Maestro Edge 125, and the Pleasure Plus. Even though the company recently launched the new Maestro Edge 125 and the Pleasure Plus' Xtec variant, it still couldn't avoid the slump in sales. The Maestro Edge fared relatively better (with a month-on-month decline of just 23 units), but the Destini and Pleasure Plus' sales have gone down by 16 percent and 15.61 percent, respectively.
Hero's bread-and-butter offerings are its commuters. The MoM sales of the HF Deluxe, Splendor Plus, and Glamour have increased by 9.51 percent, 13.78 percent, and 44.98 percent, respectively. However, the Passion Pro's numbers have gone down by 13.81 percent. The only commuter in Hero's lineup with a substantial rise of 64.91 percent in monthly sales is the Super Splendor and the Splendor iSmart.
Talking about its 150cc+ offerings, the Hero XPulse range and the Xtreme range have sold less by 20.57 percent and 42.72 percent, respectively, compared with November 2021. For reference, the XPulse range includes the XPluse 200 and the 200T, while the Xtreme range comprises the Xtreme 160R and the 200S.
