Hero MotoCorp took to the stage at EICMA to unveil its one-off Xtreme 1.R Concept bike. This unique motorcycle could pave the way for sportier 200cc street nakeds in Hero’s lineup. We get up and close with the Hero Xtreme 1.R Concept in detailed images.
The Xtreme 1.R Concept and could lead to a new 160cc motorcycle that could be a successor to the discontinued 150cc Xtreme Sports.
Hero MotoCorp is known for showcasing some bizarre concepts, and the Xtreme 1.R fits the bill. The entire bodywork right from the tank to the rear quarter panels is a single-piece unit. In other words a monocoque design.
Overall, the design is a lot sharper and muscular than we’ve ever seen before from the brand, barring the Hero Hastur. The bike even comes with an engine cowl.
Keeping up with the trends, Hero has equipped with concept bike with a full LED headlight running LED DRLs.
It features a sporty single-piece seat with minimal cushioning, something that’s usually seen on higher-capacity motorcycles.
It gets adjustable brake levers paired with a radially mounted master cylinder that should offer better bite and feel. All of which is safeguarded by levers protectors.
Funnily enough, there’s a GoPro mounted right above the rear LED tail light, presumably to watch your rivals getting smoked?
Contradicting the outlandish design is a simple air-cooled single-cylinder motor. It is expected to be BS6 compliant and features fuel injection. The 160cc motor is expected to be all new, and like the Xtreme 200R, focus on bottom-end power.
Then there’s this stubby Arrow exhaust which looks good but seems a bit out of place considering it’s a 160cc motorcycle.
The bike's suspension setup comprises of an upside-down fork and a monoshock.
The Hero Xtreme 1.R Concept uses a front petal disc brake mated to a radially mounted caliper. The rear features a single disc as well.
The 17-inch wheels, oddly enough, come wrapped in slick tyres.
It’s highly unlikely for most of these features to make it to the production model. If there's a production model ever, that is.
