It’s the only fully-faired motorcycle in Hero’s portfolio
- Gets a Bluetooth-enabled console with turn-by turn navigation and call alerts.
- Makes marginally less power and torque than before.
- The BS6 Xtreme 200S comes with one-year complimentary Roadside Assistance (RSA).
A fan of the fully faired Xtreme 200S? Well, it’s back in its BS6 avatar. As for its price, the BS6 Hero Xtreme 200S retails at Rs 1,15,715 (ex-showroom), which is Rs 14,815 more than the BS4 model. While that’s a substantial increment, the Xtreme 200S still stands as the most affordable fully faired bike in India. You even have a new white livery to choose from aside from the existing red and black colour schemes. Also, for the extra moolah, Hero is throwing in one-year complimentary Roadside Assistance (RSA). RSA provides 24x7 assistance to customers all across India with benefits such as on-call support, on spot repairs, tow to the nearest Hero workshop, fuel delivery in case one runs out of fuel, flat tyre support, battery jump-start, accidental assistance (on demand) and key retrieval support.
The bike is powered by the same 199.6cc single-cylinder motor, although this iteration gets an oil-cooler which should keep engine temps in check. As one would expect, the strict BS6 emission norms have taken a minor toll on the engine’s performance. It makes 18PS at 8500rpm and 16.45Nm at 6500rpm, mated to a 5-speed transmission. In comparison, the BS4 model made 0.4PS and 0.65Nm more.
Its underlying hardware remains the same and so does its feature list. Worth mentioning is its LED headlight and LED tail light, full-digital instrument console with a gear position indicator, and Bluetooth-enabled turn-by-turn navigation along with call alerts.
The faired entry-level performance-oriented segment doesn’t have too many options. You have the Suzuki Gixxer SF which comes at a starting price of Rs 1,23,940 (ex-showroom) and now, the Xtreme 200S BS6 which is still quite competitively priced for a 200cc motorcycle.
