HMSI Captures 25% Domestic Market in December 2015

 Honda has ended 2015 with a massive growth and successfully captured 25 percent of two-wheeler market in India. During the month, the company registered sales of 306,779 units against the 3,48,737 in December 2014. Out of the total sales, the sale of scooters stands at 198,332 while the company successfully sold 92,380 units of motorcycles. However, total export were registered at 16,067 units during the same period. The company claims that it had 25% percent domestic market share in the month of December while the overall market share including domestic and exports were 22 percent. 

Honda has been trying hard to increase it market presence. In line with this, the company introduced 15 vehicles or updates during the year. Recently, the company revealed a new scooter named ‘Navi’ on its official website, which might arrive during the upcoming Auto Expo. Reportedly, the scooter might get the 125cc engine of Activa 125 and will be the company’s second offering in the segment. The Japanese automaker also hinted that it is planning to bring 14 refresh models and vehicles in 2016. 

In December 2015, the company launched its highly-awaited Honda CB Hornet 160R - one of the first bikes in India meeting BS-IV emission norms. The motorcycle is available in two variants with the starting price of Rs. 79,900 (ex-showroom, New Delhi ). With the launch of its smallest displacement motorcycle of its Hornet family, Honda also came up with an exclusive marketing technique - a bike booking app for both Android as well as iOS devices.
