All the other bikes you can get for a similar price if you’re not a fan of the Hornet 2.0

Honda has ventured into unchartered territory by launching its first made-in-India 180cc bike, the Hornet 2.0, at Rs 1,26,345. But if you’re not a fan of Honda’s newest offering, for a similar price, you could get a 200cc, 220cc or even a 350cc bike! Here are your other options:

Suzuki Gixxer SF
Rs 1,24,897

First off, let’s start with a bike smaller than the new Hornet. Even though the Honda looks quite sporty, maybe you want something that looks even sportier, something that’s fully faired. Well, for similar money, you can get the Suzuki Gixxer SF with its smart LED headlight and full fairing. Heck, Suzuki will even paint it to look like its MotoGP machine, so if you want all eyes on you, this is definitely a good option to consider.

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Rs 1,31,050

TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 Road Test Review

We were hoping Honda would roll out a bike closer to the 200cc mark, but Hornet buyers will have to make do with a 184cc motor. If you’re interested in picking up a pukka 200cc bike instead, why not go for the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. It’s got features like LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, Glide Through Technology, and is powered by a grunty 198cc motor that produces 3.23PS and 0.7Nm more than the Hornet.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200
Rs 1,29,594

The RTR may get a 4-valve head, but it still has to make do with oil-cooling. A more advanced 200cc bike is the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, which, thanks to learnings from KTM, is powered by a liquid-cooled 200cc motor producing a very healthy 24.5PS and 18.5Nm, making it 4PS and 1.8Nm more powerful than even the mighty RTR. All this is packed into a perimeter frame, which means handling is pretty sharp too. If outright performance is your top priority, this is the bike you should go for. To top things off, it’s even more affordable than the TVS.

Royal Enfield Bullet 350
Rs 1,24,338

But hey, horsepower isn’t everything. Some people want a more laid back and traditional motorcycling experience. For them, we have the legendary Bullet 350, still powered by a 346cc single-cylinder thumper. It doesn’t have the latest features or edgy modern styling, but what it does have is unparalleled old-world charm and heritage.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F
Rs 1,20,851

Another bike on this list that's a little long in the tooth is the Bajaj Pulsar 220F, but like the Bullet above, it has retained most of its charm. We've grown to love its oddball looks, and there was never anything wrong with its punchy 220cc motor. The projector headlights do a great job of illumination and the 220F is an excellent long distance tourer.
