The upcoming bike will be the second BS6-compliant motorcycle from Honda after the CD110 Dream
[UPDATE: The Honda Livo BS6 has been launched. Check out all the details in our launch report here.]
- The Honda Livo is a premium 110cc commuter motorcycle.
- Going by the teaser video, it will get an engine kill switch, semi digital instrument cluster and perhaps slightly tweaked styling.
- The upcoming bike is expected to be powered by the same engine as the Honda CD 110 Dream but could be tuned differently.
Just after Honda launched the Grazia 125 BS6, the Japanese brand has sent out a teaser video hinting at a launch of yet another BS6-compliant product. This time around it is a motorcycle, likely the Livo BS6. Expect Honda to launch the bike by the end of this month, and this will be the second 110cc BS6-compliant motorcycle from the brand after the Honda CD110 Dream. While the CD 110 Dream starts from Rs 62,729, expect the Livo BS6 to be priced at around Rs 67,000 to Rs 70,000 (ex-showroom). With this pricing, it will essentially be a more affordable, feature-packed, equally stylish alternative to the Honda SP 125.
Going by the teaser video, the upcoming motorcycle could get a slightly revised bodywork design. It gets a new engine kill switch and the instrument cluster is a semi-digital unit as before but its design looks a lot more cohesive now. The headlamp is still halogen and the tail light and indicators are of bulb type.
Expect Honda to use the same 109.51cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor as the CD 110 Dream. However, Honda is likely to tune this engine differently to suit the character of the bike. In the CD 110 Dream, this powerplant produces 8.79PS at 7500rpm and 9.3Nm at 5500rpm. Expect the power figure to be slightly higher in the Livo.
The underpinnings are expected to remain unchanged. The bike is likely to get a 130mm drum brake on both ends, with the option of a front 240mm disc. Suspension bits include a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers.
When launched, the Honda Livo BS6 will compete against the Hero Passion Pro 110, Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear and TVS Star City Plus.
