Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) might bring a new low cost motorcycle- CG Dream in the market. It will be Honda’s new entry-level and most affordable offering in the country. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs. 40,000 and it will compete with the other products in the respective segment like Hero HF-Dawn, Bajaj CT 100, TVS Sport, Yamaha Crux and Mahindra Pantero.
The upcoming Honda CG Dream is already available in some other markets including Pakistan. The bike features sufficient body panels instead of being totally barebone model like some other entry-level commuters. It also sports an angular headlight with bikini fairing like the other Dream series motorcycles and gets proper side and rear panels in continuous pattern. However, other equipment of the bike including wheels, brakes, suspensions, tyres, handlebar and more, will be like a very basic motorcycle, helping in cost cutting.
Powering the Honda CG Dream is expected to be the same 110cc, air-cooled motor that powers the other Dream series bikes. It makes 8.25bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 8.63Nm at 5,500rpm. The engine will be mated to a 4-speed, constant mesh gearbox using a wet multiplate clutch assembly. The bike will be capable to achieve a maximum speed of 86kmph while claims to return fuel efficiency upto 89.45kmpl.
