Honda offers the 160cc sporty bike in four colours. Here’s what they are all about
Honda’s latest BS6-compliant product is the X-Blade. Priced at a whopping Rs 1,10,968 (rear disc variant), The X-Blade is currently Honda’s flagship BS6-compliant small-capacity motorcycle. The BS4 version was available in five colours: Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Frozen Silver, Pearl Spartan Red and Matte Marshal Green Metallic. On the other hand, the BS6 iteration has missed out on the Matte Frozen Silver and Matte Marshal Green Metallic. However, there’s a new colour variant in the form of Matte Axis Grey Metallic.
The Pearl Spartan Red variant offers a good balance of sportiness and subtlety. The colour-coded rim stickers further enhance its premium quotient. We wish the belly pan was colour-coded too, for an added dose of sportiness. The Matte Marvel Blue Metallic looks quite premium thanks to its blue and while dual-tone scheme. It also gets colour-coded rim stickers and a white grab rail. To be honest, the white grab rail sticks out like a sore thumb on an otherwise neat-looking tail section.
The Matte Axis Grey Metallic and Pearl Igneous Black are perfect for those who want an inconspicuous yet timeless look. The black variant looks slightly more attractive than grey thanks to the orange highlights on the fuel tank as well as the colour-coded orange rim stickers and grab rail.
All the four variants get colour-coded fuel tank extensions instead of the blacked-out ones on the BS4-compliant model. Only the headlight cowl, fuel tank, a portion of the front fender and the grab rails are coloured. The rest of the parts are all-black. The base rear drum brake-equipped variant of the X-Blade BS6 costs Rs 1,06,687, which is a whopping Rs 17,551 more than the BS4-compliant version. For the added premium, Honda doesn’t offer anything apart from a new counterbalanced powerplant, engine kill switch, and an optional rear 220mm petal disc brake.
