We break down the Super Meteor 650’s prices, and the differences with the brand’s other 650cc bikes
The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, the marque’s flagship cruiser, brings with it a list of firsts: an LED headlight, a USD fork (from Showa, no less), span-adjustable levers, and much more. Nevertheless, all good things come at a price, in this case starting from Rs 3,48,900 for the entry-level Astral variant, and going all the way up to Rs 3,78,900 for the top-shelf Celestial variant.
So how much costlier is it than the rest of its 650cc brethren? Let’s find out:

Rs 3,14,682 |
Let’s start off with the entry-level variants on all three bikes. The ex-showroom prices of the Interceptor 650’s base Canyon Red variant start at Rs 2,88,815, while the Continental GT 650’s base British Racing Green variant comes in at Rs 3,05,624. This makes the differences stand at Rs 60,029 for the Interceptor and Rs 43,276 for the Continental, both of which are substantial differences.
Moving on now to the mid-level variants, and the difference becomes Rs 49,862 and Rs 66,671 with the Continental’s Ventura Storm and Interceptor 650’s Downtown Drag variants, respectively. And finally, the top variant of the Super Meteor is 47,332 costlier than the Continental 650’s Mr Clean, and Rs 64,218 costlier than the Interceptor’s top Mark 2 variant variant.
So does that mean Royal Enfield’s flagship cruiser is only a rich boy’s toy? Well, not really. Go through our first ride review, and you’ll realise that save for the engine, the Super Meteor 650 is new from the ground up and offers a ‘true’ cruiser bike experience. Moreover, the overall fit and finish is a step above what we’re used to seeing on RE bikes so far. And as we’ve already mentioned, all good things come at a price!
