A team of 15 army officers and Ola riders have kickstarted an eco-friendly ride on Ola S1 Pro scooters from Kasauli to the higher areas of Shipki La. The ride will see the bravehearts ride for over 5 days, concluding their journey at Kinnaur on June 8, 2022. Over this period, the much talked-about electric scooter will be taken through challenging terrains to conquer some of the finest peaks of the Himalayas.

An e-Scooter rally from Kasauli to Shipki La was flagged off by GOC-in-C, #SuryaCommand. The Surya Command Team led by Capt V Rana with 11 soldiers will traverse the tough terrain from Kasauli, Karcham, Ropa to Shipki La (13000 ft).@adgpi pic.twitter.com/YIk2r3fpH2
While this is the first time for Ola Electric, the Indian Army has previously partnered with Royal Enfield and Yezdi and Jawa as well.
The S1 Pro is powered by a permanent magnet motor producing a peak power of 8.5kW and a peak torque of 58Nm (at the motor). It has a top speed of 115kmph while it comes with three riding modes – Normal, Sport, and Hyper. One can charge the EV completely through a 750W charger in roughly 6 hours 30 mins. You can get up to 75 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes of charging while the total claimed range is 181km.
