The company is targeting the shared and commercial mobility segment with its first offering
EV startup Dispatch announced its arrival in the Indian market back in May 2021. You can read more about it here. The Indian company has now announced that it will be launching its first purpose-built electric scooter in the first half of 2023. Dispatch claims that its focus is on solving fleet dynamics for last-mile mobility in India. It also claims that its electric scooter will be completely made-in-India and will feature a strong body frame.
The company shared a video providing viewers a glimpse of this upcoming electric scooter. From what we can see in the teaser, the scooter gets a minimalist and modern design and a modular body frame. The LED headlamps are placed on the front mudguard and have bifurcated LED daytime running lights integrated in it. Carrying this minimalist design further is a tidy digital instrument cluster along with space to keep your smartphone or tablet for navigation. Dispatch also claims that it’ll come with a bunch of connected features.
Boosting its B2B credentials is the fact that its pillion seat can be converted to accommodate a storage box. Furthermore, the battery is placed under the rider’s seat, hinting that the scooter will get a swappable battery.
Dispatch says that their focus with the upcoming scooter will be on shared as well as commercial mobility segments. Instead of manufacturing the scooters directly, the company says that they have partnered with one of the largest contract manufacturers in the country having an installed production capacity of up to six million scooters each year.
If you’re looking to lay your hands on an electric scooter right now, you could have a look at scooters like the Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube Electric, Bajaj Chetak or the Simple One.
