The Navy covered 7 north-eastern states spanning 3,500km on Jawa bikes

  • A group of 35 riders from the armed forces started the ride from Guwahati.
  • The aim was to spread awareness about the Navy and promote national unity.
  • Recently, Jawa launched the Perak bobber at Rs 1.94 lakh.

Jawa recently teamed up with the Indian Navy and organised a ride called #RideToGiveBack to the seven north-eastern states of the country. Under this initiative, 35 riders from the Indian Navy rode from Guwahati, covering 3,500km in 25 days. This isn’t the first time a manufacturer has partnered with the Armed Forces. Back in 2017, Royal Enfield had partnered with NSG Commandos for an 8,000-km ride under the theme ‘Fight Against Terror’. The commandos rode the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Stealth Black, which later went on sale. The bike was sold out in 15 seconds

Coming back to Jawa’s initiative, here’s the brand’s press release:

Indian Navy rides Jawa motorcycles; 3500kms across the North Eastern states

New Delhi/ Guwahati, November 26th 2019: Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd., manufacturer of Jawa motorcycles, recently partnered with the Indian Navy on its #RideToGiveBack programme. A team of 35 Navy personnel, both men and women riders, led by Rear Admiral P.G. Philipose, rode 3,500 kms to the Northeastern region. The riders were on a quest to meet and inspire the youth from schools and colleges of the entire region and raise awareness about the Indian Navy as well as national unity.

During the 25-day grueling ride, the motorcyclists visited Tawang, Bumla Pass, Kohima, Agartala, Shillong, Cherrapunji, Kaziranga and Imphal, exploring these remote and exotic locales which tested the mettle of both man and machine. The Jawa riders were flagged off from the Jawa dealership in Guwahati.

Jawa takes great pride in its #ForeverHeros campaign launched in support of the Indian armed forces. As a part of the #ForeverHeros campaign Jawa donated the proceeds amounting to Rs 1.5 crores from the auction of their first 13 motorcycles to the Armed Forces Flag Day fund, which is dedicated to the welfare of children of the martyrs of the armed forces. Jawa has also contributed to the reconstruction of a community hall for the families of the martyrs of the Kargil conflict in Leh.

This partnership with the Indian Navy also falls under the ambit of #ForeverHeros and #RideToGiveBack initiative of the Jawa Motorcycles. Jawa believes that the efforts made by the intrepid navy men to reach out the youth of Northeastern India will increase their awareness and will have a hugely positive effect on the future lives of the youth in the North East.
