[Update: Kawasaki has launched the Ninja ZX-25 in Indonesia. Know prices and more details here.]

Along with what looks like the quarter-litre Ninja, Kawasaki has also teased multiple motorcycles

  • The inline four-cylinder engine is rumoured to produce around 60PS.
  • Could be unveiled at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.
  • It is likely to get an adjustable suspension, traction control, rider modes and much more!

Japanese bike maker Kawasaki is reportedly working on a four-cylinder Ninja 250 called the ZX-25R. According to rumours, the upcoming quarter-litre Ninja belts out 60PS, which is 11PS more than the Ninja 400. What’s more interesting is that it has a rev ceiling of up to 20,000rpm.

Kawasaki has now shared a teaser image of all the models that we can expect at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show and EICMA.

The manufacturer will unveil two motorcycles during the Tokyo Motor Show and we expect one of them to be the rumoured ZX-25R. Details about the upcoming Ninja are limited but as per some reports, Kawasaki might offer two variants of the Ninja ZX-25R -- presumably a standard variant and a top-spec ‘RR’ model. The top-spec variant could feature top-notch cycle parts such as adjustable suspension and premium radial brake components.

Currently, there’s no word on the price yet, but the Ninja ZX-25R could retail in Indonesia at around Rs 5 lakh. It might sound like an astronomical figure, but the quarter-litre Ninja might work for some South Asian countries where there are hefty taxes imposed on larger capacity bikes. Additionally, Kawasaki isn’t offering anything between the Ninja 300 and the Ninja ZX-6R in the Indonesian market. So, the Ninja ZX-25R could be a perfect middle ground for people who are looking for a high-performance sportbike on a budget.

We don’t expect Kawasaki to bring the Ninja ZX-25R to our shores anytime soon. And even if it did, expect it to be priced north of Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
