Kawasaki launched the BS6 Ninja 300 early last month at Rs 3.18 lakh (ex-showroom), which is a massive Rs 20,000 price jump over the BS4 model. To make things worse, Kawasaki says this is just the introductory price, which means we could expect it to get steeper in the coming months. The Ninja 300 has been the Japanese manufacturer’s best selling model here in India, but the high price tag may eat into its sales. Nevertheless, those who’ve already booked the bike will start receiving them soon, as per Kawasaki India.
Those who haven’t can book the bike via Amazon, the company’s website or through your nearest Kawasaki dealer.
The bike remains largely unchanged except for a set of new colours for 2021: Lime Green, Candy Lime Green and Ebony. It also features new pistons, a die-cast cylinder head, and a larger cat-con to help it comply with BS6 emissions. It continues to be powered by the same 296cc parallel-twin engine producing 39PS at 11,000rpm and 26.1Nm at 10,000rpm. That’s a 0.9Nm drop in torque. Thankfully, its power output remains the same. The bike retains its 6-speed gearbox and slip-and-assist clutch.
While there’s no change in hardware, the Ninja has become more accessible to shorter riders. It features a 5mm lower seat (at 785mm) and gets 5mm more ground clearance (at 140mm). Not to mention, the bike hasn’t gained any weight during the BS6 transition.

The Ninja 300 BS6 can be booked via Kawasaki's website or at your nearest authorised dealership. With no extra features, the Ninja 300 sure is an expensive proposition, especially when you consider bikes like the KTM RC 390 and the TVS Apache RR 310, both of which are due for an update soon.
