Celebrating its 120th anniversary, Kawasaki has reduced price of the Ninja 650 in India from Rs 5.37 lakh to Rs 4.97 lakh.
Kawasaki has successfully completed 120 years of existence. Celebrating the occasion, the Japanese automaker has announced a price revision for its most popular middleweight motorcycle, the Ninja 650. Earlier priced at Rs 5.37 lakh, the bike now will be retailed for Rs 4.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It means the price has been reduced by Rs 40,000, which makes it more affordable and an attractive proposition for riders looking to transition to middleweight models.
With this price cut, Kawasaki plans to expand the customer base so that more people can enjoy its larger capacity motorcycles. The Kawasaki Ninja 650 is a full-faired sports tourer with the aggressive Ninja supersport-inspired styling. The compact and light perimeter frame of the bike enhances its riding dynamics and gives excellent road manners. Enhancing the comfort of this ergonomically designed tourer is the perfect suspension setup which comes tuned on a bit on the plusher side. The set-up comprises of an adjustable offset laydown shock absorber at the rear and 41mm telescopic forks up front.
Powering the Ninja 650 is a compact parallel-twin DOHC motor displacing 649cc, which has been tuned for gentle performance. The liquid-cooled engine makes 72.1PS of maximum power at 8,500rpm and delivers a peak torque of 64Nm at 7,000rpm. Braking duties are handled by dual 300mm disc brakes at the front and a 220mm disc brake at the rear. The bike misses out on ABS and it is not available even as an option extra. However, it is one of the best value for money options in its respective price range that is even better now with the reduced price factor. The new price of the bike is effective August 1st, 2016 and is valid for 2015 models only.
