Gets the same design language as the ICE bikes, but are powered by ‘clean energy’
Kawasaki has unveiled its new electric bike duo – the Ninja e-1 & Z e-1 – after much anticipation. These electric motorcycles are based on their traditional counterparts, the ICE Ninja and Z series.
These bikes are not high-performance electric vehicles, targeting the power of 125cc petrol motorcycles. Both bikes have a 5kW motor with a removable battery pack, offering a top speed of 99kmph. They come with two ride modes (Ride and Eco) and an e-boost mode for short bursts of extra performance.

When it comes to design, the e-bikes take inspiration from the petrol-powered Ninja and Z bikes. While the Ninja e-1 takes cues from the Ninja 400, the Z e-1 looks a lot similar to the Z400.
Both e-bikes feature reverse and walk modes, LED lighting, a TFT console, and smartphone connectivity. While the battery capacity and range remain undisclosed, they come with a twin removable battery setup.
The significant news is that the Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 will be launched in the UK in October 2023. However, their availability in India is uncertain, leaving enthusiasts with alternatives like the Ather 450X, Tork Kratos, Revolt RV400, and Ultraviolette F77, among others.
