It is all set to launch on September 25
Just a little over a week ahead of its official launch on September 25, a brochure of the Kawasaki W175 has been leaked, confirming the specifications of the retro bike. Just a couple of days ago, Kawasaki had teased the W-series on its social media handle, confirming the arrival of the W175.
The most important bit is that the India-spec W175 will be powered by a fuel-injected 177cc single-cylinder engine, unlike the international-spec carbureted mill. Even with the conversion to fuel injection, the bike produces the same 13PS at 7500rpm and 13.2Nm at 6000rpm. That said, the output figures are still nothing to write home about.
Featuring a double cradle frame, the W175 runs a telescopic fork and dual shock absorber suspension setup. Apart from that, it gets a 270mm petal disc brake up front with a twin-piston caliper, whereas the rear gets a 110mm drum brake. As spied earlier, the India-spec model also gets a single-channel ABS.

The India-spec model tips the scales at 135kg kerb, 9kg more than the international model. Additionally, the India-spec bike gets a smaller 12-litre fuel tank, but a higher seat height of 790mm. The international-spec model gets a 14-litre fuel tank and 780mm seat height. That aside, the bike will be available in two colour options: Ebony and Special Edition Red.
The roadster is just a few days away from launch and can be expected to be priced at around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The closest rival to the W175 in India will be the Yamaha FZ-X and it will be a smaller-engine alternative to the Royal Enfield Bullet 350.
