We recently reported that the Suzuki Hayabusa has received some new features for its 2013 version and now Hayabusa’s closest rival Kawasaki ZZR1400 is going to get some new features. Kawasaki has announced a 2013 special edition of Kawasaki ZZR1400, which is one of the most popular sport-touring bikes. The bike has received some nifty details that make it more effective. The Special Edition keeps in place all the goodies of the standard bike: the same unbelievably powerful 1441cc 4-in-line engine already delivering more than half the max torque at 2000 rpm, and exploding after 4000 rpm.

The 200 PS power is kept under control with the state-of-the-art Kawasaki traction control, but using the RAM Air forced intake, the 2013 ZZR1400 Special Edition can add 10 PS to that. The monocoque aluminium frame keeps everything in place with lightweight sturdiness, and the bike's design nicely accommodates multiple accessories perfect for touring. New ABS brakes complement its amazing comfort and usability on the street, and help increase its appeal to a wide range of riders.

The 2013 Kawasaki ZZR1400 instruments and controls are fully up to the latest standards, with a multi-function switch on the left handlebar that handles all system functions; you can toggle the LCD screen using the upper/lower buttons, and easily scroll through fuel consumption, remaining range, battery voltage, external temperature, traction control, etc., choosing and adjusting functions using the 'select' button in the center of the toggle switch. There's even an "eco" indicator on the LCD screen that lets riders know when they're getting maximum economy and fuel mileage. A sportier suspension is in place for a better, firmer feel, while the revised transmission ensures an enhanced power delivery to the rear wheel. Add in the special graphics of the 2013 Kawasaki ZZR1400 Special Edition and you'll get a bike whose looks equal its awesome performance.
