The First product of the Bajaj-KTM synergy is on the edge of launch in India. KTM being famous for making hooligan bikes and Bajaj owns a reputation of making good performance bikes, their combination will be good to witness and must be a cracker. The Bike KTM Duke 200 will be hitting the Indian streets in a couple of months from now as told by the company to the press in the ongoing EICMA Motorcycle Exhibition. Other details reveal that KTM Duke 200 expected price is Rs. 2 Lakhs. The Bike will face a heavy competition from already released Honda CBR 250R. Although charm of new company is different but records tell that Indians follow more of tradition rather than experimenting with a new one! So it will be solely a test of quality for company KTM because it’s the first time and they will have to deliver to change the tradition of buying of people here in India.
KTM Duke 200 displays the dashing European style of KTM's bikes which distinguishes it from rest of the bikes because of its uniqueness and gives us a glimpse of KTM's family genes. Further, there's a kit on offer - 3 mm USD forks, a trellis frame, rear monoshock, underslung exhaust and monstrous tyres. Coming to technical specifications of KTM Duke 200, the Bike's engine comprises single cylinder producing 24 bhp same as Honda CBR 250R. However, what distinguishes Duke 200 is its light weight. Weighing 125 Kg (without fuel) it sets new standards of being powerful i.e. of being in the range of 200-250 cc segment and being light in weight as well which is benchmark of this company. Honda CBR 250R falls to heavy for this weighing 167Kg.
Taking a look back at the Duke 125, we find wheels, suspension and chassis has not been changed in its upgraded model for the 200. Body balance and handling should be delightful on this Duke 200. This amazing combination of being light in weight, good handling and reputed brand name will amaze people to ride this Bike. Bikes like Yamaha R15 to Honda CBR 250R, everyone will feel the heat of KTM Duke 200. Although believing on Indian trend of less experimenting, the launch of KTM Duke 200 will allow the buyer to have a diversification in choices of choosing their Bike.
