KTM Duke 350 For Around Rs. 2 Lakhs

The joint venture of Indian auto giant Bajaj Motors and Austrian auto giant, KTM, is all set to fire the Indian bike market by launching huge fleet of KTM Bikes in the Indian bike market. To achieve their objective of strongly launching KTM Bikes in India company is focusing its marketing strategy starting from grass root level. There are reports indicating the company’s first highly speculated creation KTM Duke 200 will be launched during Auto Expo 2012, going to be held in New Delhi.

Immediately after which company also plans to launch its two more variants KTM Duke 350 and KTM Duke 690 in the Indian bike market. It is reported that KTM Duke 350 will manufactured in India whereas KTM Duke 690 will be brought via CKD route. Other KTM bikes that will be introduced in Indian market will be RC8 and Super Duke.

According to industry experts, company is speculating on pricing policy to be adopted for KTM Duke 350, which is designed similar to its erstwhile sibling KTM Duke 200 and is energized with Freeride 350’s engine. There are rumors that as KTM Duke 350 is designed on same platform of KTM Duke 200 its engine will available throughout the world. It is reported that Bajaj Auto is speculating to minimize the production cost of KTM Duke 350 and plans to price it close to Rs 2 lakh.

The launch of KTM Duke is also confirmed by Mr. Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM.  KTM Duke 350 is expected to hit the Indian roads by end of 2012. Moving toward KTM Duke 200, it is anticipated to place tough competition for Yamaha R15 and Honda CBR 250R that dominate Indian bike market as far 200 to 250 cc segment is concerned. It is expected that it will be priced with price tag varying between 1.1 lakh and 1.3 lakh in Indian bike market.
