KTM is one of the leading manufacturers of off-road variant bikes in Europe. This European off-road manufacturing giant has recently entered Indian bike market, with its semi-off-road bike model KTM 200 Duke, which was recently launched in Bangalore. They have delivered KTM 200 Duke bikes to their first 20 customers. KTM also displayed the other accessories and merchandise of KTM like KTM Power Wear and KTM Power Parts. Top Bajaj officials were also present at the inaugural function of KTM store in Bangalore, and said that KTM is second largest in manufacturing and sales in Europe after BMW, and has more than fifty percent market share in global market on off-road bike segment.
KTM has proven its expertise and have won many racing achievements to its name. KTM is not only a leading brand for off-road bikes in Europe but their caliber for producing best off road bikes is renowned across the world. KTM Duke 200 is powered by single-cylinder engine. KTM Duke is fitted with liquid cooled, DOHC and 4-valve engine capable of producing 25 BHP power, and a torque of 19 Nm. KTM 200 Duke is specially designed with Trellis frame, upside down forks from WP, who is a specialist in making upside down forks from Europe, aluminum swing arm, with multifunction cockpit.
KTM 200 Duke is set to give tough competition to its competitors like Yamaha YZF R-15V2.0 and Honda CBR 250R. The competition between these three companies might get stiffer and tougher in the days to come as KTM 200 Duke costs less when compared to Honda CBR 250R, which was a reason of concern for the Japanese manufacturer. And for this reason, Honda have planned to introduce new variants in Honda CBR 250R with some cosmetic changes to the existing bike.
