After a long row of rumours and speculations, the long awaited Mahindra Mojo is all set to be launched in India on October 16, 2015. The dealerships have been taking bookings for the motorcycle since the start of September against a token amount of Rs. 10,000. Mahindra Two Wheelers sent out an email to the customers who had booked or enquired about the motorcycle. The email included a form asking them about their details so as to make sure the enquiries were from genuinely interested customers.

The motorcycle houses a 300cc, liquid cooled single cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power of 27 PS at 8,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 30 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The bike runs on an 110/70/ZR17 front and 150/60/ZR17 rear Pirelli Diablo Rosso tyres that come mounted over stylish black alloy wheels. The stopping power is provided to the bike by 320mm disc brakes at the front tyres and 240mm disc brakes at the rear. The suspension system of the bike consists of telescopic forks at the front end and offset mono shock absorber at the rear.

The manufacturer first showcased Mojo back in the 2010 Auto Expo which was held in Delhi. Since then, it has gone through several changes to make it suitable for Indian riding conditions. The company is planning to give some additional benefits to first 100 buyers of the bike. Mahindra seems to be pretty confident about the performance of its latest bike as some dealers in Mumbai have already started providing test rides to the customers so as to attain maximum bookings. The bike is expected to be priced between Rs. 1.6 lac to Rs. 2 lac. In India, it will rival the likes of KTM Duke 390 and Honda CBR250R who are already established in the segment.
