The 2016 Auto Expo is the biggest platform in Asia for the vehicle manufacturers to showcase their products. Mahindra two-wheelers scored a point in doing that when it recently showcased the 2016 version of its Moto3 racing motorcycle MGP30 at the event. The machine had made its appearance at the previous edition too and it has been developed by Mahindra Racing at their Italy facility. If compared, the bike is significantly different from its earlier version.
The 2016 Mahindra MGP30 is powered by a 249cc, single cylinder, four-stroke engine that has been equipped with twin fuel injection technology. The motor pushes the bike to a maximum speed of 235kmph and MGP30 sits on an aluminium perimeter frame. It has been fitted with Ohlins inverted forks at the front and Ohlins TTX mono shock absorber at the rear. The braking comes from Brembo dual disc brakes up front and Brembo single disc brake at the rear that offers a decent bite. The 10-liter fuel tank and a total weight of just 78kgs make the bike quite lightweight and hence more practical for racing.
In the previous year, Mahindra which is the manufacturer of this bike had supplied the bike to nine riders and four teams. There are rumours that Peugeot will be using MGP30 and if this happens, it would be using these Mahindra Racing motorcycles for Saxoprint racing team in Germany. Stay tuned for more updates!
