Celebrating its association with the upcoming Bollywood movie "Mirzya," Mahindra to launch a special edition of the Centuro.
Popular Bollywood filmmaker, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is going to release his film "Mirzya" on October 7, 2016. In the film, you will see the lead actor, Harshvardhan Kapoor, riding Mahindra's popular commuter motorcycle - the Centuro. Celebrating this association with the upcoming film, Mahindra will be launching a special edition of the bike which will be called "Centuro Mirzya". Besides the standard features of the bike, the special edition motorcycle gets fire horse graphics along with the "Mirzya" logo, inspired by the film.
Introducing the special edition motorcycle, Vinod Sahay, chief executive officer, Mahindra Two Wheelers, said, “We are delighted to offer a really distinctive and stylish looking Mahindra Mirzya edition to celebrate our association with the film “Mirzya”. Mirzya is the first movie produced by Cinestaan Film Company and its chairman told that the motorcycle is an integral part of the lead character in the film. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, director of Mirzya, said, “Mirzya is a modern day love story which is based on the historical Punjabi folklore legend of Mirza-Sahiban, one of the popular iconic romances which has been passed on from generation to generation. This story resonates even today, as seen in the film in modern day Rajasthan of 2016, amongst two rebellious lovers. We are heartened that Mahindra Two Wheelers has decided to introduce a special edition to celebrate the film release.”
Mirzya is based on ‘the legend of Mirza & Sahiban’, which is a popular, tragic love story of Punjab. However, it has been shot in the bleak and desolate terrain of Ladakh and vibrant, colourful Rajasthan to bring out stark contrasts while intricately weaving in nuances of this eternal love story which resonates even today in contemporary Rajasthan.
Coming to the bike, the special edition Mahindra Centuro Mirzya just gets a cosmetic update, while mechanically, it remains unchanged. The bike continues to get power from the 106.7cc, MCI-5 (Micro Chip ignited 5 curve) engine mated to a 4-speed transmission. The motor gets a carburettor type fuel system and makes 8.5PS of power and delivers a peak torque of 8.5Nm. Along with that, the bike features stylish alloy wheels, Remote Flip-Key, LED tail lamps, Find-Me lamps and an anti-theft alarm.
