Though the electric scooter GenZe 2.0 had made its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo, but reports are that Mahindra is not bringing this new two-wheeler to India anytime soon. The scooter has already marked its presence on the streets of United States but the Indian fans will not be seeing it here anytime soon. Many auto-enthusiast were looking forward to the launch of this vehicle as Mahindra GenZe 2.0 is considered the best innovation and technological invention by the Indian manufacturer by far.
Also, as it is a compact electric scooter, it surely could have reduced the problem of pollution and parking in India. For all those who have not heard of this new offering, it complies with all the emission norms thanks to its all-electric nature, getting its power from a removable 1.6 kWh lithium-ion battery, which can easily be charged by any power source. The all new Mahindra GenZe comprises of LED headlamp, wide handlebar, tiny windshield, 12V charging sockets, riding modes & disc brakes and hold a total kerb weight of 105 kgs.
This electric scooter has impressive acceleration figures and can reach the top speed of 48 km/h in 8 seconds. The display console of this machine is attractive as it shows several statistics including driving and eco-friendly modes, battery level and is measured at 7-inch touchscreen. If it comes to India, the electric scooter will be priced somewhere around 1.90 lac ($ 2,999 in the US). It seems like the price is the main reason why the company has no plans of bringing it the Indian market because at this price even this excellent innovation could be a flop show in a price-sensitive market like India.
