These two-wheelers will help you save quite some money with rising fuel costs
Fuel prices have gone through the roof in 2021, and travelling long distances on a daily basis can be a bit harsh on your pocket. To solve this issue, a few bike makers have worked on their products, brought new technologies to improve mileage figures.. So here's the list of most fuel efficient two-wheelers tested by us in 2021.
Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid:
Yamaha recently updated the Fascino 125 with hybrid technology, so the scooter is now powered by a 125cc engine with a smart motor generator that assists the rider when accelerating from a standstill. This engine churns out 8.3PS (same as before) and 10.3Nm (0.6Nm more). We had also tested the 2020 Fascino 125, and were impressed by it’s mileage figures. However, this mild-hybrid technology has made it even better as the scooter delivered an outstanding 68.75kmpl in the city during our test run. The Fascino 125 Hybrid Disc variant is priced at Rs 80,530 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid:
Yamaha's RayZR 125 gets the same engine and mild hybrid technology that we have discussed above with the Fascino 125 Hybrid. While the Fascino left us amazed with its amazing mileage figures, the RayZr, on the other hand, turned out to be even better as the scooter delivered the best in class 71.33kmpl of mileage in our city test run. The Yamaha RayZr 125 is available in STD Hybrid (Drum), STD Hybrid (Disc), and Street Rally Hybrid variants that are priced at Rs 76,830, Rs 79,830, and Rs 83,830 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
TVS Radeon BS6:
The TVS Radeon is powered by a 109.7cc single-cylinder BS6 engine that produces 8.2PS (0.2PS less than the BS4 model) and 8.7Nm. Compared to the BS4 model, this engine only gets an additional fuel injection technology which has further improved its fuel efficiency. In our mileage test, the Radeon delivered 73.68kmpl in the city and 68.6kmpl on the highway, an increase of 7.39kmpl and 4.63kmpl respectively compared to the BS4 model. The price of the TVS Radeon starts at Rs 59,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).
TVS Raider:
To capture the 125cc motorcycle segment, TVS recently launched the Raider in the Indian market. The Raider gets sporty styling, some cool features and is powered by a 124.8cc single-cylinder engine that produces 11.38 PS and 11.2 Nm. In our fuel efficiency test, this engine has managed to deliver 65.44kmpl in the city and 71.93kmpl on the highway. While this engine delivers good fuel efficiency, it doesn't come at the cost of performance as the bike gets a strong low and mid-range punch. The Raider is available in two variants: Drum and Disc, priced at Rs 77,500 and Rs 85,469 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
Bajaj Pulsar NS125:
The baby NS in the Pulsar range gets similar styling as its elder sibling. The bike is powered by a 124.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled DTS-i engine that churns out 11.99PS and 11Nm. This engine delivered 64.75kmpl in the city and 56.46kmpl on the highway, making the NS125 one of the most fuel-efficient bikes in its segment. The Pulsar NS125 is available in a standard variant that is priced at Rs 99,347 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Yamaha R15 V4:
The Yamaha R15 V4 is undoubtedly one of the most attractive looking bikes that you can buy right now in the Indian market. And what makes it even better is its fuel-efficient nature. The entry-level sportbike manages to deliver 55.20kmpl in the city and 60.56kmpl on the highway, thanks to its 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that is offered with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation Technology). To know what VVA is all about, check out our story here.
The price of the Yamaha R15 V4 starts at Rs 1,70,800 (ex-showroom Delhi).
