MV Agusta unenvied the first official image of their new model - the Rivale prior to its EICMA debut in Milan. The bike is expected to be on sale in September 2013 globally. The Rivale shares its powerful 800cc motor with new Brutale 800. The Brutale is also expected to be unveiled at the EICMA show in mid November. The engine is a new tweaked version of the existing F3/B3 675 unit, using a 81mm bore to achieve the capacity increase. The Rivale give a glimpse of Ducati-esque as it has taken styling cues from that, with elements from both the Hypermotard (handguards and front end) and Diavel (seat unit and numberplate hangar), but it still has the typical MV Agusta identity at the end.
It also shares some traits with the F3 like beautifully integrated tank, seat and tail unit sit over the trademark cast / trellis frame, and distinctive triple-ported exhaust system. As we all know that MV Agusta is going to discontinue the Brutale 920 by 2013, ahead of a cleaned up 1090 range. And the anticipated debut of a Brutale 800, the Rivale should be a strong addition to the range, fulfilling the much needed space for a mid-market urban street bike.
Stay tuned for more details on the same.
