With the rerouted exhaust, new custom fuel tank, and entirely different look, the Nakshatra 650 Bobber by Neev Motorcycles is the latest custom motorcycle based on the Super Meteor 650.
Royal Enfield as a brand has always encouraged modifications to their models and many modders have used their bikes as a canvas to express their creativity. Neev Motorcycles, a Delhi-based custom house, with their Neev Nakshatra 650 Bobber is one such example.
Choppers and Bobbers have always been the favorite projects of modders, and in India, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is the ideal motorcycle for such a project due to the long wheelbase and overall ergonomics that comes with it. Neev Motorcycles have taken the Super Meteor and completely transformed the motorcycle into a bobber that incorporates design elements from the star constellations earning it the name – Nakshatra 650 bobber.
The custom bike flaunts a stunning black paint scheme combined with a stealthy black finish on its engine and other components. The fuel tank on the Bobber is a custom unit that is taller than the stock tank and the addition of floating shrouds gives the bike an overall muscular look. The instrument cluster is placed in the middle of the fuel tank along with the Royal Enfield tripper navigation, and the bike now gets twin fuel lids, adorned with sun signs arranged in a geometric pattern.
Overall the bike looks clean and archives that bobber feel both in aesthetics and function, with a sleek-looking custom headlight and cowl. The front gives off the ‘traditional’ look with a custom raised handlebar offering an upright riding posture.
Another interesting bit is the side-slung rerouted exhaust setup which gives it a radical approach compared to the stock bike. Neev has added in other changes, like introducing larger-section tyres on both ends that come with custom wheel covers with constellation patterns. The suspension doesn’t seem to have changed and likely features the same USD fork and twin shock absorbers, but with larger covers.
The number plate has been shifted to the left – for a ‘proper custom bike’ feel – and the rear taillight is brand new. When it comes to engine modification, there’s nothing that indicates any performance enhancements. That said, the stock bike is powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine that belts out an unchanged 47PS and 52Nm.
