This adventure tourer is all set to get a Showa upside down fork
In today’s episode of spotting Royal Enfield test mules, we’ll take a look at the Himalayan 450 LC, which has been spied for the nth time. But before we cover what’s new in this set of spy shots, here’s a quick recap on what we inferred from the previous time we spotted this upcoming Royal Enfield bike.
If you were being cheeky and didn’t click the above link, you missed the first look at the massive, single-pod, circular LCD instrument console that’ll debut on the Himalayan 450 LC. Additionally, the premium looking upside down fork on the test mule hinted at them being Showa units.
Well, the latest set of spy images confirm that the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 LC will indeed be suspended on a Showa upside down fork; however, it misses out on preload adjustability. Additionally, the rotary dials seen on the Classic 350, Meteor 350, Hunter 350 and Super Meteor 650 also find their way onto the Himalayan 450 which is a little odd considering this bike is meant to be an adventure tourer.
However, with the hardcore Rally version of the Himalayan 450 LC in the works, we could see Royal Enfield going all out in kitting this Rally variant with adjustable suspension to make it capable of kicking some serious dirt.

Don’t mistake the Himalayan 450 LC for not being capable though, as it packs a lot of firsts from the brand, like a liquid-cooled engine and double-cradle frame with a bolt-on subframe. Head here for more details about this bike.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 LC is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2023 with an expected price tag of Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.
