What makes the new Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 stand apart from its rivals
The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 has been launched on the occasion of the ‘original’ Splendor’s 30th anniversary. It comes with some new features to make it even more appealing to the masses. Here are 5 highlights of the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0:
Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 Features
The newest iteration of the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec gets a segment-first LED headlight that retains the iconic rectangular shape. A new H-shaped LED DRL is integrated in the headlight unit. Its tail light, too, is H-shaped, and the bike now also gets hazard light functionality. It continues to get the full-LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity for call and SMS alerts, real-time mileage indicator, side-stand indicator, and other usual readouts.
Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 Engine
The new Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 continues to be powered by the same frugal 97.2cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 7.9PS and 8.05Nm and is paired to a four-speed gearbox. With a claimed efficiency of 73kmpl and a 9.8-litre fuel tank, it should have a range of over 700km. That is almost as much as some of its owners ride in an entire month.

Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 Suspension, Brakes, & Other Equipment
The underpinnings of the new Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 continue to remain the same as before. It gets a telescopic fork and 5-step preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers. Both the wheels are 18-inch ones and come shod with 80-section tubeless tyres. Braking is handled by 130mm drum brakes on both ends with a combined braking system. The Splendor has a healthy 165mm ground clearance. With a 112kg kerb weight, the Splendor is light and easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces.
Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 Price
The new Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 is priced at Rs 82,911 (ex-showroom, Delhi), at which it costs Rs 3000 more than its predecessor. It has three colour options to choose from: Matte Grey, Gloss Black and Gloss Red. For reference, the standard Splendor Plus is priced from Rs 75,441 to Rs 78,286 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 Rivals
The Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0’s primary rival is the top variant of the TVS Radeon, which is priced similarly. However, that’s a 110cc bike. If you are looking for 100cc alternatives, there’s the Honda Shine 100 and Hero Passion Plus.
