The iconic British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph, has launched one of the latest Tiger 800 variants- XCA in India at a price tag of Rs. 13.75 lacs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It has been positioned as the top of the line model in the Tiger 800 range with a bunch of advanced features. So, let’s have a look on this latest machine.

Triumph Tiger 800 XCA is an ultimate adventure sports motorcycle, which is ready to take any challenge. The bike looks almost similar to the XCx variant, except the addition of aluminium pannier rails making it ready to tour along with the optional Expedition luggage set.

It costs around Rs. 1 lac extra over the Tiger XCx, which adds heated rider and passenger seats, heated grips, LED fog lamps, and an upgraded 650W alternator complete with 3 auxiliary sockets as standard features. The extra power sockets can power everything you need from heated clothing to GPS systems.

Powering the new XCA variant  is the same 800cc, in-line three cylinder engine, which powers the entire Tiger 800 range. The motor develops 94bhp of maximum power and 79Nm with a 17% improvement in fuel efficiency.

The 6-speed gearbox of the bike has been updated with the selector mechanism derived directly from the class leading Daytona for quicker and smoother shifts.

The Tiger XCA has been built on a stiff, tubular trellis frame with a new titanium powder coat providing resistance in extreme riding conditions. It runs on highly durable, off-road oriented spoke wheels of 21-inch diameter at the front and 17-inch diameter at the rear.

Suspension of the Tiger XCA comes from one of the leading off-road suspension manufacturers- WP Performance Systems. It features 43mm USD fork at the front with rebound and compression damping, which is easily adjustable through dedicated clickers on the fork tops. At the rear, it has a WP mono shock, which is adjustable for preload and rebound damping, and has a dedicated dirt protector for the RSU body.

The Triumph Tiger 800 XCA gets twin 308mm floating discs at the front with Nissin 2­-piston sliding calipers and single 255mm disc at the rear with Nissin single piston sliding caliper. The braking system is assisted by latest generation switchable ABS, which has three modes- ROAD, OFF-ROAD, and OFF, and it comes as standard on the Tiger XCA.

The XCA comes with three-mode traction control, 4 throttle maps, three riding modes and cruise control, all of which are standard features of the bike. The riding mode can be chosen between ROAD, OFF-ROAD, or PROGRAMMABLE RIDER MODE, which can optimize all of the electronic safety devices for the riding conditions.

Traction control can be configured to Road, Off-Road, or Off settings, while the throttle maps can easily be changed between Rain, Road, Sport, or Off-Road via the switch cube to provide greater levels of control to meet changing conditions. Cruise Control will help you in making long journeys more comfortable and improves fuel efficiency.

The bike also has an advanced trip computer, which provides additional functionality such as journey time, average speed, average fuel economy, range to empty, and instantaneous fuel consumption.
