In one of the most unpleasant incidents of its kind, a total of ninety-two vehicles were burnt in several areas of Pune that included five housing societies and a Pizza outlet located at Sinhagad Road. The painful mayhem happened during early Sunday morning when most of the people were fast asleep, which led to even more miserable vehicular destruction. As per reports, a total of 77 two-wheelers, 8 four-wheelers and 7 cycles were set to flames by a suspected individual, which has been traced by the CCTV cameras doing suspicious activities at all places involved. The total damage has been estimated to over Rs. 1 crore by the officials in the one and a half hour long tragedy.

All sites are located within a range of 5kms, which led the culprit perform his tasks more smoothly and effortlessly. The following five housing societies were tingled along with the Domino's Pizza outlet situated at the Sinhagad Road: Suryanagari housing society, Swaminarayan housing society, Akshay Glory society, Avdhoot Arcade society and Ram Heights society.

With the CCTV footage in hand, a well-built man was spotted cutting the fuel pipes of the vehicles in the parking lots of the above-mentioned societies. Going through the sketch, he appears to be of around 30 years of age. Pune has previously also seen the same kind of incidents in the areas of Kothrud, Dhankawdi and Pimpri-Chinchwad but this one claimed the most number of vehicles. With back to back incidents like this, the failure of police department in arresting the culprits till now is getting more and more serious and questionable.
