The Indian National Congress leader was seen riding the bike during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’
It’s no secret that the majority of Indian politicians prefer sitting in the comfort of their white-coloured, four-wheeled cavalcade, the likes of which consist of Toyota Innovas, Fortuners and Mahindra Scorpios. Well, a few of them have been spotted at the wheel of such cars too. However, here’s a still of Indian National Congress (INC) leader Rahul Gandhi riding a Royal Enfield bike.
In a twitter post that’s gone viral on the Internet, Rahul Gandhi was seen riding a Royal Enfield Classic 500 Desert Storm, surrounded by a sea of people wanting to catch a glimpse of him. The politician is currently heading INC’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, and was seen strapping on a helmet before riding the bike, thus showcasing a good sense of road safety awareness.
The Royal Enfield Classic 500 was discontinued along with the Bullet 500 and Thunderbird 500, during the enforcement of BS6 emission norms. A made-to-order Tribute Black limited edition version of the Classic 500 was launched roughly two months before the bike was discontinued.
